Who We Are
Texas State is a State set on finding liberty. The approach is do what you want, when you want, however you want. This often leads to trouble, addiction and heartache, rather than the freedom sought. One idol is exchanged for another. Many people believe that religion is about rules. We believe following Jesus is something altogether different. We believe true liberty comes in obedience to Jesus Christ. This is life, life to the full. When true love captures us, our desires change, our habits die, our priorities are reset and our dreams are reimagined. We no longer want to live for ourselves – something greater is before us. As a community, our desire is to love God. That love compels us to love others. It causes us to love our city. For the sake of that love, we long for renewal in every corner of Amsterdam, holding nothing back to see the destitute healed and restored. In love, we want Americans from every culture, tribe and community to find true liberty.

Unity
Unity is the thread that unites us as one body in Christ at Sought Out Church. It is the peace we feel when we love one another with grace, respect, and understanding and connect our hearts and thoughts with God’s plan. Our common faith and conviction that we are all called to cooperate in order to carry out God’s purpose are the foundations of unity. It builds a community where each person is respected, encouraged, and empowered despite differences. Our goal at Sought Out Church is to establish a cohesive family in Christ where cooperation and love provide a solid basis for development and change.
Liberty
At Sought Out Church, Liberty is the freedom found in Jesus Christ—freedom from sin, fear, and shame, allowing us to live authentically and boldly in our purpose. It’s about embracing God’s grace and walking in His love, joy, and peace. True Liberty is not just personal freedom, but living in community, free to love and serve others. We are empowered to pursue our calling, confident in the grace and freedom Christ has given us.
Love
Love is the cornerstone of everything we do at Sought Out Church. Christ’s selfless, unconditional love is what changes people’s lives and gives us the capacity to love others without boundaries. Love is an activity as well as an emotion; it manifests itself in grace, kindness, and service. We hold that God’s love reveals our actual selves and our purpose, and we are obligated to show that love in every relationship we have. As we develop our faith and community, love at SoughtOut Church is about creating a place where everyone feels appreciated, welcomed, and cared for.
Salvation
Salvation, according to Sought Out Church, is the gift of eternal life obtained via trust in Jesus Christ. It is the reconciliation of our relationship with God and the forgiveness of sins, which are made possible by God’s grace and Jesus’ death on the cross. Salvation is freely offered to everyone who believes and accepts it; it is not something we have to earn. It is the cornerstone of our hope, providing both the promise of a changed life and release from the grip of sin. We at Sought Out Church think that salvation calls us to live in the fullness of God’s love, peace, and purpose while spreading this hopeful message throughout the globe.
Eternity
Eternity, according to Sought Out Church, is the assurance of eternal life with God. It is the belief that our time here on Earth is only the start of a lifelong journey with our Creator. We hold that we are given the guarantee of a destiny beyond this world, one that is full of His presence, serenity, and purpose, by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. Our current style of living is shaped by eternity, which instructs us to love others, invest in things that remain forever, and live with an eternal viewpoint. We at Sought Out Church are dedicated to spreading the gospel of eternity and inspiring everyone to live with the prospect of an endless existence.
